Answer / AUSTRALIA

How long does factory-direct delivery from China to Australia take?

A realistic explanation of approvals, manufacture, quality checks, consolidation and freight lead time.
SHORT ANSWER

Lead time is project-specific and should be counted from approved information—not from the first enquiry. It includes quotation, samples or drawings, manufacturing, checks, consolidation, ocean freight, border processing and final delivery.

01

Approval comes before manufacture

Factories need confirmed dimensions, finishes, operation and commercial scope before reliable production timing begins.

  • Resolve technical questions
  • Approve dated drawings
  • Freeze selections
02

Production periods differ

A wardrobe package, glazed screen and custom gate may each have different manufacturing and checking periods.

  • Plan around the longest item
  • Allow corrective-work time
  • Avoid late design changes
03

Freight is not fully controllable

Sailing schedules, congestion, customs and regional delivery may alter estimates.

  • Use a delivery window
  • Keep site programme flexible
  • Do not book installers too early
